A man who shouted Allah Akbar in Arabic ran over several people in a bike lane in lower Manhattan, in southern New York, after which there was a shooting by the NYPD. The suspect used a truck to kill at least six people and left at least fifteen more injured, according to official sources and local media. Several people have had to be taken to Bellevue Hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, according to the New York Post. The FBI is investigating the incident as a terrorist attack.
From the information of the police and several witnesses the suspect got on a pick-up van headed southward a bicycle and pedestrian lane that is parallel to the Hudson River and crosses the great avenue of West Side Highway. At full speed, the vehicle ran over several people, until it collided with a school bus. “The suspect left the vehicle with imitation firearms and was shot by the NYPD,” the police wrote on his Twitter.

A police spokesman has confirmed that the alleged perpetrator of the shooting has already been arrested and is in police custody. He was shot in the leg by the agents and was taken to the hospital, after he was arrested.
A witness, identified as Eugene, explained that there were several bodies on the ground, in front of Stuyvesant secondary school. The same source also said that he heard at least ten shots, but could not tell where they came from. The incident took place in Lower Manhattan, near the 9/11 Memorial, coinciding with the Halloween day.
