“Through his false statements and omissions, the defendant Papadopoulos prevented the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the existence of links or coordination between individuals associated with the campaign and the efforts of the Russian government to interfere with the 2016 presidential elections,” he stressed. the indictment signed by the special prosecutor, Robert Mueller.
Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser in the Trump campaign, pleaded guilty to charges of hiding his conversations with an anonymous “professor” linked to Moscow who offered “dirty” data about Hillary Clinton, rival of the current president in the elections.
Papadopoulos indictment and plea were revealed shortly after Trump’s former boss Paul Manafort and business associate Rick Gates were charged with conspiracy against the United States, money laundering and false statements.
If Papadopoulos is being charged for lying to the FBI, Democrats should also worry since there is plenty of dirt on the Hillary campaign.
