Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie mixes politics and music in his farewell concert

As Gord Downie said farewell to his fans in Kingston last night, the Tragically Hip frontman took time to endorse PM Trudeau saying Canada is in good hands and even told the audience that we should expect Trudeau to remain in power for at least 10 to 12 years.

Downie who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, is also a leap manifesto supporter who thinks Canada should stop drilling for fossil fuels, the “pro” Trudeau stance at the Tragically Hip concert was unexpected in my opinion, I would have expected this concert to be about celebrating music instead it turned into a Liberal campaign stop.

And we also had Trudeau doing what he does best, gather publicity.

It’s always about Trudeau.

The CBC also took credit for airing the concert, and oddly enough admitting they’re not perfect.

At the end of the night we got to hear great music but the show should have excluded left wing politics.
